Anna Syperek

Anna Syperek was born in England and immigrated to Canada in 1950. She studied painting, drawing and art history at York University in Toronto before moving to Nova Scotia where she graduated with a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1980.

The inspiration for her work comes from her community and surrounding landscape. Her etchings are finely detailed and often suffused with a lovely play of light and colour.
Her painitngs and etchings have been exhibited throughout Atlantic Canada and can be found in corporate and private collections including the Canada Council Art Bank, the Nova Scotia Art Bank, Petro Canada.Via Rail, and others. Anna is a member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour.

She currently teaches drawing and print making at St Francis Xavier University in Antigonish.
