After starting his career in the arts in 1964, working at the Confederation Centre in Charlottetown, Wendell Dennis went on to graduate in Design from the National Theatre School of Canada in Montreal, Quebec.
His set and costume design credits for many theatre and dance companies include numerous productions for Le Theatre du Nouveau Monde, and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens.
Wendell has also worked as Art Director for many feature and commercial films. He has taught Theatre Crafts at Montreal area colleges, and also taught scenic painting for several years at the National Theatre School.
Feeling the urge to paint the Maritime landscape as a full time occupation, Wendell returned to his native Prince Edward Island, where he resides in the charming community of Victoria by the Sea. He is adept in several media, including oils, acrylics and pastels. His richly coloured paintings are infused with light, and seem to glow softly from within.
